Tim Hartman Jr. Earns His 2nd Mr. Crate Track USA Title With Instant CDRA Classic Last Lap Pass To Win At Lebanon Valley

WEST LEBANON, NY โ€“ Champ was doing champion things, as Tim Hartman Jr. had fans on their feet and off their seat with a daring last lap cushion tickling pass on Craig Wholey to win his second Mr. Crate Track USA title in an instant CDRA racing Sportsman Modified classic at Lebanon Valley Tuesday night. Owen Lewis joined Wholey and Hartman Jr. on the podium at the checkered flag.

East Nassau, NY racer Owen Lewis and Bolton Landing, NY racer Craig Wholey would lead the 28-car starting field to the green flag with Lewis jumping ahead early. Wholey was left to fend off competition in the form of two-time Mr. Crate Track USA winner Michael Sabia of Easton, CT and Gansevoort, NY racer Michael Wagner-Fitzgerald.

By the one third mark, defending JAM Performance & Consulting CDRA series presented by Elmoโ€™s Speed Supply champion Tim Hartman Jr. of Glenville, NY had made his way forward from his eighth starting spot to challenge for a top five. Following Hartman through was L.D. Bossman Championship contender Joey Scarborough of Brandon, VT who started 12th.

Brothers Crane, Chris Jr. and Connor of Canaan, CT were having a family fun day racing with one another making a Greenacres Landscaping sandwich out of East Greenbush, NY racer and valley hot shoe AJ Albreada. 2025 NOTY award winner Nick Brundige of Round Lake, NY and another valley top gun Connor Prokop of Middleburgh, NY were also battling for top 10 positions.

By lap 19 Wholey had caught Lewis and began pressuring for the lead. While they battled the champ began closing the gap. Lewis seemingly had the line to win, until he didnโ€™t.

As they approached some lap traffic Lewis was racing hard with a flat left front, Wholey got a look at Hartmanโ€™s nose with two laps to go, and TH2, who won this race last season, was starting to really rip the lip. And with one lap to go both Wholey and Hartman slip by Lewis.

Wholey sets it up heading into turn three, with Hartman swinging it high, wide, and handsome, which led to a drag race to the checkered with Tim Hartman Jr. just edging out Craig Wholey for the exiting last lap, last corner, instant classic victory and his second Mr. Crate Track USA title. Lewis held on for third followed by Joey Scarborough and Michael Wagner-Fitzgerald rounding out the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 finishers were Chris Crane Jr., Nick Brundige, Connor Crane, Michael Sabia, and AJ Albreada.

โ€œTraffic kind of got me close. Then they started battling in front of me and I didnโ€™t realize Owen had a left front flat, so I center punched him off turn two and about wrecked all three of us. So, Iโ€™m sorry about that, but it was an awesome race,โ€ Tim Hartman Jr. said to Rich Vleck in G&R Motorsports Victory Lane.

The champ concluded with saying, โ€œItโ€™s almost an advantage being in third, because theyโ€™re not expecting you. You get to figure out what you have to do, and fortunately I picked the right lane at the right time and got it done.โ€

CDRA NOTES: Three notes include drivers making impressive runs starting with Joey Scarborough who started 12th and finished 4th. Thatโ€™s enough to earn him the Herrington Farms Big Red One Hard Charger for the event.

Series regular and L.D. Bossman championship contender Michael Wagner-Fitzgerald also made a little noise. Not only is โ€˜Mikey Wagsโ€™ in the title mix, heโ€™s also in NOTY contention and earned the Newcomer Of The Race award for Mr. Crate Track USA finishing strong in 5th.

Final note goes out to the ladies holding it down during their first CDRA touring season. NOTY contender and top-Rated Rookie Jordan Hill earned a respective 16th place finish at a track sheโ€™s only race on once or twice. She led fellow lady racers Savannah Laflair and Raelin Dunham who both made solid laps gaining experience at Lebanon Valley.

CDRA TITLE WATCH: Three points of note in the chase for the L.D. Bossman Championship Trophy start with defending series, race, and track champion Tim Hartman Jr. After a modest 10th place run for TH2 he showed everyone exactly why the ticket to title town goes through him. Hartman has climbed from 10th to 4th in point standings.

Spring Shootout winner and point leader Joey Scarborough held on to the top spot with a solid hard charger finishing in 4th during Mr. Crate Track USA. Heโ€™ll take the point lead into Glen Ridge in July for the Montgomery County Brawl against a very talented field of Capital District racers and DIRTcar Sportsman East Series best.

Last title points to note, Craig Wholey after two events is a bonified title contender and quietly has himself second in points just 2-points behind Scarbrough. As a matter of fact, itโ€™s wild to know the top 10 racers are only separated by 27 points. Even wilder, the top five are only separated by 8 points. We have four points paying events left to watch this dramatic title chase unfold.

UP NEXT FOR CDRA: Next stop for the stars and cars of the CDRA Racing Sportsman Modified series is at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park on Sunday July 5th for the Montgomery County Brawl. The program also features the DIRTcar Sportsman East Series and a talented group of racers looking for notoriety. Two series, one show, and bad ass racers everywhere. Get your popcorn ready and donโ€™t miss it.

CDRA is a nostalgic throwback to CVRA days. Each season consists of a diverse schedule based around storied dirt tracks in the Capitaland such as Albany-Saratoga, Lebanon Valley, and Glen Ridge. Drivers who participate have the opportunity to earn hardware and monetary rewards for their efforts.

Looking Ahead: Lebanon Valley Speedway Mr. Crate Track USA Crown Jewel CDRA Event Sends L.D. Bossman Contenders Through Defending Champion Tim Hartman Jr. Stomping Grounds

WEST LEBANON, NY โ€“ The 2025 JAM Performance CDRA Racing Series points championship presented by Elmoโ€™s Speed Supply rolls into West Lebanon, NY Tuesday June 16th for Mr. Crate Track USA. Itโ€™s a โ€˜crown jewelโ€™ PPE for racers on a huge night of racing in the valley of speed which features the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds annual Mr. Dirt program.

Mr. Crate Track USA has a storied history at Lebanon Valley Speedway playing a pivotal role in series point championship battles, with this summerโ€™s PPE serving as one of two โ€˜crown jewelโ€™ events on the CDRA schedule. These events are essentially valued at double the points for racers towards the L.D. Bossman championship trophy chase.

2026 brings with it the fourth visit for CDRA to Lebanon Valley Speedway with its third Mr. Crate Track USA PPE. Prior editions of the event were run under the KOD banner. For Season Three, the points paying event will include a draw-redraw format that features Saratoga Masonry Supply qualifying heats, LCQโ€™s, and a 25-lap main event.

Previous winners who have parked it on the legendary front stretch at Lebanon in G&R Motorsports victory lane include Michael Sabia (2017 & 2015), Tim Hartman Jr. (2025), Rain (2024), Rob Maxon (2018), and Scott Duell (2016). Sabia is currently the only driver to win the event championship twice, which could change Tuesday night.

There were 140 laps of Mr. Crate Track USA competition so far, with 12 different drivers leading laps. Easton, CT racer Michael Sabia has the most laps led in event history with 42. His next closest active Sportsman Modified competitor is defending race and CDRA series champion Tim Hartman Jr. who has 13 laps led in event history.

In the previous seasonโ€™s edition of Mr. Crate Track USA, it was Valley regular AJ Albreada of East Greenbush, NY who led early until CDRA champion and track dominator Tim Hartman Jr. took the lead and never looked back earning his first event championship on August 28, 2025.

โ€œThis race is going to be big. Itโ€™s the first ever crown jewel for our series, meaning basically a double points show. Itโ€™ll have a lot of championship implications, but also Newcomer Of The Year contenders and Rated Rookies will be vying for their share of the notoriety and accolades. The valley is always that track we visit that can change everything,โ€ said competition director Rob Hazer.

CDRA racing invites drivers, crews, and fans alike to Lebanon Valley Speedway Tuesday June 16th for a night of racing guaranteed to entertain including Sportsman Modified, Pro Stock, and featuring the headlining Super DIRTcar Series shower of Big Block Power with the very best Modified racers in a must see event of the summer in the Capital District.

UP NEXT FOR CDRA: After Lebanon Valley Speedway, CDRA turns attention to the fastest quarter mile on dirt, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park on Sunday July 5th for a DIRTcar East Region series race that also serves as a points paying event for a Montgomery County Brawl.

Lebanon Valley and Albany-Saratoga Crown Jewel PPEโ€™s To Play Important Role In Chase For L.D. Bossman Championship Trophy

FONDA, NY โ€“ The 2025 JAM Performance CDRA Racing Series points championship presented by Elmoโ€™s Speed Supply has a new twist for Season Three with the addition of two โ€˜Crown Jewelโ€™ points paying events for drivers chasing the L.D. Bossman Championship Trophy in 2026.

CDRA Crown Jewel points paying events are races on the series schedule that will give drivers an opportunity to earn more points than in past seasons. While standard points awarded are 100 for the winner, 97 for second, and down by 1 point to last with 50 points awarded for DNS or DNQ competitors, Crown Jewel events are essentially double that.

Crown Jewel points paying events will be worth 200 points for the winner, 197 for second, and down by 1 point to last. Any competitor who does not qualify (DNQ) or is unable to start the main event (DNS) will be awarded 100 points.

โ€œFirst, we must acknowledge that all tracks, Albany-Saratoga, Glen Ridge, and Lebanon are important to earning a series championship with CDRA,โ€ competition director and series promoter Rob Hazer began.

He continued saying, โ€œThe main reason we made this distinction for 1/3 of our schedule was to have a heavier weighted race early in the season and one race weighted heavier at the back end of the season, with what we commonly call โ€˜the grindโ€™ as the bulk of work competitors put in towards earning the L.D. Bossman Championship Trophy.โ€

By structuring a pair of PPEโ€™s to be worth essentially double the points, it creates a larger separation naturally between series regulars and other competitors. However, the point differential within the distribution of points remains the same whether the race is valued at 100 to win or 200 to win. This means either scale, itโ€™s only 25 points between 1st and 24th. This keeps the point chase tight.

โ€œWhile all races are important on our schedule and we value all tracks involved, thereโ€™s two races the drivers talk about most and we listen. They talk about winning Mr. Crate Track USA and they want that Malta Massive Weekend winnersโ€™ belt, which we titled the Great Crate Classic,โ€ concluded Rob Hazer.

The first Crown Jewel PPE for CDRA Sportsman Modified is at Lebanon Valley Speedway on June 16, 2026, during the Mr. Dirt Track Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified Series night.

The second Crown Jewel PPE for CDRA Sportsman Modified takes place at Albany-Saratoga Speedway on September 25, 2026, during Malta Massive Weekend with the Great Crate Classic. This race is also a DIRTcar Championship Sportsman race with a talented field expected.

Challenging the racers and keeping fans engaged in the point battle storylines is what CDRA is all about, and the addition of a championship point scale for Crown Jewel PPEโ€™s on the six-race tour schedule does just that. Whoever earns the L.D. Bossman Championship Trophy named in honor of Maltaโ€™s late promoter Lyle DeVore, will have earned bragging rights as King Of The Capital District.

UP NEXT FOR CDRA: The season starts April 17, 2026, at Albany-Saratoga Speedway for CDRA racers. 25 laps for $1,300 to win on Maltaโ€™s 61st season opener. Also, on the race card are Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds and DIRTcar Pro Stocks. Limited Sportsman drivers are welcome to attempt to qualify and race in the Spring Shootout.

Tim Hartman Jr Earns Big Red One Hard Charger On His Way To Mr. Crate Track USA Victory At Lebanon Valley

WEST LEBANON, NY โ€“ Mr. Crate Track USA returned to Lebanon Valley Speedway Thursday night and Tim Hartman Jr. stomped the yard for an impressive 20-lap feature victory and extending his CDRA racing series lead with one point paying race left on the 2025 schedule.

Middleburgh, NY racer Connor Prokop and East Greenbush, NY true valley rookie sensation AJ Albreada would lead the field to the green flag where the top spot would be hotly contested early and often. Defending series champion Taylor Wason of Middlegrove, NY took a big swing at the top spot going 3-wide with with the 22a and 12p cars.

Albreada driving his Rob Albreada Snap-On Tools number 22a, pulled a crossover on Wasonโ€™s Lenihan Paving 07w machine and assumed the lead. The aforementioned Midtel Solutions 12p of Prokop was left to battle with East Nassau, NY racer Owen Lewis and hard charging series point leader Tim Hartman Jr. who was coming fast with his MRP Companies number 22 Troyer.

After a spirited duel between Albreada, Wason, and Hartman it was TH2 emerging in the top spot by the halfway point in the race. Albreada was secure in second, while Wason found himself in a battle with Prokop, Brookfield, CT racer Nick Giardini, and Raymertown, NY racer Dylan Grogan for top five positions.

Otis, MA racer Ray Hall Jr. was on the move from his 13th starting position with his Gary J. Oโ€™Brien Property Services 57. Hall was one of three drivers to improve six positions while earning a top 10 finish, with the other two being Tim Hartman Jr. and Nick Giardini. Hartman would be awarded the Big Red One Hard Charger by virtue of his win.

For Hartman it was another trip to victory lane, as he picked up the Mr. Crate Track USA win. It was his 4th CDRA racing series win, which is more than any other competitor in two seasons of Capital District Racing Association competition.

Rounding out the top five were AJ Albreada, Connor Prokop, Nick Giardini, and Taylor Wason. Albreada was awarded Newcomer Of The Race for his second-place finish.

NOTES: At Mr. Crate Track USA, itโ€™s important to note the efforts by Caroga Lake, NY racer Tavien Blowers. The CDRA regular earned a 10th place finish respectively after starting 15th and moved into third in series standings. Round Lake, NY racer Nick Brundige was also on hand at Lebanon Valley Speedway, as heโ€™s been a welcomed addition to the regulars this season. Brundige earned a 15th place finish respectively and moved into fourth in series standings just 9 points behind Blowers.

TITLE WATCH: Tim Hartman Jr. is one race away from securing the Season Two (2025) JAM Performance & Consulting CDRA racing series presented by Elmoโ€™s Speed Supply title. After his Mr. Crate Track USA win, TH2 extended his point lead to 28 over defending series champion Taylor Wason. Speaking of Wason, he has without question silenced his critics. Still mathematically in the hunt for the championship, Taylor earned a tour win and has gone Hoosier-to-Hoosier with red hot Hartman for the series crown. No matter how it shakes out at Albany-Saratoga for Malta Massive Weekend, Wason has been a worthy champion.

UP NEXT FOR CDRA: The series heads back to Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Friday September 19th for the Great Crate Classic at Malta Massive Weekend. Itโ€™s also part of the DIRTcar Sportsman Fall Championship series meaning the competition will be fierce.

CDRA is a nostalgic throwback to the CVRA days. A series designed specifically for Capital District racing. Season two schedule consists of a diverse schedule at storied dirt tracks like the great race place, the fastest quarter mile on dirt, and the valley of speed. Drivers who do travel the Capitaland will earn hardware and some green for their efforts.

CDRA Begins Grueling Month Of August Racing Thanks To Mother Nature Going Back-To-Back At Glen Ridge Followed By Lebanon Valley

FONDA, NY โ€“ Mother Nature didnโ€™t do anyone favors this season with many events getting forced to cancel or reschedule. The JAM Performance CDRA Racing Series presented by Elmoโ€™s Speed Supply wasnโ€™t immune to rain delayed events, and now the chase for the 2025 Capital District Crown enters a Grueling mini โ€˜hell tourโ€™ scenario that began Friday at the great race place.

The Montgomery County Brawl scheduled to be part of a co-promoted event at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park along with DIRTcar East Series racing, was washed out sadly. CDRA officials worked with Ridge officials to reschedule the event to Sunday August 10th. That sets up a unique situation for all involved going forward this season.

One week prior to the rescheduled Montgomery County Brawl at Glen Ridge is the originally scheduled Rumble At The Ridge, which was set for Sunday August 3rd at the beginning of the year. It is part of the DIRTcar Sportsman Fall Series event at the fastest quarter mile on dirt. But thatโ€™s not where the CDRAโ€™s mini โ€˜hell tourโ€™ ends.

Just two weeks after the Rumble At The Ridge CDRA/DIRTcar Sportsman Series event is the highly anticipated return of Mr. Crate Track USA at Lebanon Valley Speedway on Thursday August 28th. Itโ€™s part of the Super DIRTcar Series Mr. DIRT Track USA event, which is one circled on a driverโ€™s schedule in the spring as one of the most challenging events of the season.

So, when put together you have CDRA points paying races July 25th (Flying Trowel 32 at Albany-Saratoga Won By Tim Hartman Jr.), August 3rd (Rumble At The Ridge at Glen Ridge), August 10th (Montgomery County Brawl at Glen Ridge), and August 28th (Mr. Crate Track USA at Lebanon Valley). 4 points paying races in 5 weeks will test drivers and their will to win the Season Two (2025) championship.

After two races Chris Jakubiak leads the point standings with 206 and a win, but is just one point ahead of Tim Hartman Jr. who also has visited Scott Duell Marketing & Designs victory lane. Bennington, VT racer Joey Scarborough sits third in points with 198, with Dylan Madsen of Spencertown, NY fourth with 195, and Canaan, CT young gun and Newcomer Of The Year contender Connor Crane in fifth with 193.

โ€œItโ€™s crazy how it worked out, but we had to do it so we could get drivers at least six races for points and leave us as a series some space just in case we need to reschedule events prior to our season finale on September 19th during Malta Massive Weekend,โ€ said competition director Rob Hazer.

UP NEXT FOR CDRA: Focus shifts to Glen Ridge Motorsports Park for a DIRTcar Sportsman Series event that doubles as a points paying race for CDRA competitors on Sunday August 3rd for a Rumble At The Ridge.

CDRA is a nostalgic throwback to the CVRA days. A series designed specifically for Capital District racing. FONDA, NY โ€“ Season Two of the JAM Performance CDRA Racing Series presented by Elmoโ€™s Speed Supply is ambitious. At the time of this release there are six confirmed points paying races, with the option to expand to seven on the table. Once again CDRA is humbled by the support shown for the series project and strives to promote drivers and sponsors of participating tracks. Now, letโ€™s talk about events.

Sabia, Giardini, and Burk Make Their Mark With Podium Finishes But Hartman Dominated Lebanon Valley

FONDA, NY โ€“ Letโ€™s talk podium finishes again, this time checking in with Lebanon Valley Speedway. Did you know that Tim Hartman Jr. dominated the Sportsman Modified competition with record setting runs including 13 podium finishes, all wins?!

Of those wins, one came during a JAM Performance CDRA points paying race presented by Elmoโ€™s Speed Supply in August.

Matt Burke was apparently the only other driver with a ticket to the victory lane party after parking it on the front stretch to close the season in West Lebanon, NY. It was his only podium finish on the year.

Michael Sabia tried hard to put his Teo Pro Car elite in victory lane, which earned him six podium finishes. He had four runner up finishes and a pair of third place runs, but never made it to the front stretch for a celebratory dub.

Impressive to note are the five podium finishes earned by Nick Giardini. They were all runner up finishes including three consecutive to start the season in 2024.

As part of our commitment to participating tracks we share weekly results and/or stats from the Sportsman Modified division as a lead up to CDRA points paying race results and/or stats. We appreciate the valley of speed, what they offer to Capital District racing, and their support of CDRA.

CDRA is a nostalgic throwback to CVRA days. A series designed specifically for Capital District racing. Six races make up a diverse schedule at storied dirt tracks to crown a champion. Are you brave enough to live life on the ridge, battle at the great race place, and tame the valley of speed? The drivers who do will earn hardware and some green for their efforts.
