Get Familiar With CDRA Rules For The 2025 Racing Season!

SECTION 1.1: CDRA has no specific set of technical rules. Home Track rules and/or race specific rules do apply. For Example: If you’re racing a CDRA points paying event at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, their rules are your rules for the night. Another Example: If you’re racing a CDRA points paying event at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, their rules are your rules for the night.

SECTION 2.1: CDRA has no set specific format for points paying races. Hosting track formats do apply in the same fashion as the above-mentioned technical rules. For Example: If you’re racing Lebanon Valley Speedway, their qualifying procedures, feature format, and laps are your format for the night. (Handicapping, Draw/Redraw, Time Trials, Etc.)

SECTION 3.1: CDRA has no set specific purse for points paying races. Hosting tracks advertised purses do apply in the same fashion as the above-mentioned technical rules and formats. For Example: If you’re racing at a CDRA Points Paying event hosted by Albany-Saratoga Speedway, what they are offering for winners share and total purse, is your winners share and total purse for the night.

SECTION 4.1: CDRA speedways included by all intensive purposes have like-minded rules. Tracks included and/or participating operate primarily based off the DIRTcar rulebook. (Hoosier Tires, VP Fuels, Etc.)

SECTION 4.2: CDRA tracks include 3 of 4 located in the Capital District that operate on like minded rules, tires, and fuels. Tracks currently include Albany-Saratoga Speedway, Lebanon Valley Speedway, and Glen Ridge Motorsports Park.

SECTION 5.1: CDRA point systems are developed to keep the championship chase tight. The points system is as follows: 100 for a feature win, 97 for second, down by one point to last.

SECTION 5.2: Attendance bonus points are also available. Drivers earn five bonus points per event they attend and attempt to qualify for. For Example: The driver who wins the main event earns 100 points plus five attendance bonus points for a total of 105.

SECTION 5.3: Points breakdown for Drivers who qualify, but DNS earn 50 points. Drivers who DNQ earn 50 points. Drivers who are DQ earn last place points for scale infractions and zero for mechanical rule infractions. Track decisions are final decisions.

SECTION 6.1: CDRA Hard charger is awarded to the top 10 driver who improves most positions from original starting position to finishing position at each CDRA points paying race.

SECTION 6.2: CDRA Newcomer Of The Year eligibility is determined by two factors. Factor one is if a driver has never competed full-time or over 75% of scheduled CDRA races during any season, then they are NOTY eligible. Factor two is if a driver has never competed on any other Sportsman Modified or higher series/tour past or present, then they are NOTY eligible.

SECTION 7.1: Driver Direct is pivoting to a final points position type partnership program for Season Two (2025). More details coming.

SECTION 8.1: Attendance Policy required to earn end of season point funds is as follows; drivers may not miss more than ONE scheduled race during Season Two (2025). This includes any dates that may need to be rescheduled.

SECTION 8.2: If a driver misses two or more races they forfeit any point funds opportunity no matter where they are in final point standings. In the event any point fund opportunities are forfeited due to attendance policy, the monies will be evenly distributed among eligible drivers finishing in the top ten in final points.

SECTION 8.3: We do not offer a drop nor do we offer a substitution. Missing a scheduled event means you miss out on that nights points. If a driver fails to meet attendance policy requirements for point funds, the decision to distribute forfeited point funds among other eligible drivers is final.

SECTION 8.4: Driver eligibility to earn series points and/or point fund money is not available to full-time Modified racers or anyone who wins a Modified feature during the same season. AGAIN, full-time Modified racers are NOT eligible to earn CDRA points and/or point fund money. Furthermore, full-time Modified racers with more than six Modified starts during the same season are NOT eligible to compete in CDRA Sportsman Modified races. This rule is non-negotiable and series officials and/or supervisory officials decisions are final.

SECTION 9.1: It is a driver’s responsibility to have read all CDRA rules, and have asked any questions to fully understand them.

SECTION 9.2: By entering CDRA points paying races a driver agrees to abide by all procedural, scoring, and point distribution rules.

SECTION 10.1: Drivers also understand and agree they and/or their car owner are solely responsible for the actions of their team and themselves.

SECTION 10.2: Driver behavior extends, but is not limited to at the track, and on social media. If a driver posts disparaging or inflammatory comments towards fellow competitors, track officials, or CDRA officials they can be fined driver points, monies earned, and/or suspended events.

SECTION 10.3: Drivers further understand that track decisions are final. The only course of rebuttal, protest, or appeal is to do so at the track you are questioning and by their procedures. We respect their decisions and consider them final.

SECTION 11.1: Any driver entering a CDRA points paying race willingly agrees to allow CDRA and/or it’s affiliates non-exclusive rights to use their name and/or likeness, via still images, motion picture, drawings, nickname, animation, initials, persona, autograph facsimile, voice, biographical information, and/or any other identifying characteristics to promote and publicize series and/or participating track events.

SECTION 12.1: Drivers understand dirt track racing is dangerous and carries an aspect of risk, personal injury, property damage, etc. They further understand there is no guarantee of safety, expressed or implied, even if all safety equipment and steps are taken.

SECTION 13.1: Any rule changes, additions, and/or amendments will be clearly noted here on the rules page and highlighted to maintain the utmost transparency with all drivers involved and competing to earn the CDRA championship.
